As an HR Advisor, Layla’s role is to provide guidance and support to HR Solutions’ varied clients on a daily basis. In addition to being a trained mediator via Acas, Layla has a degree in Human Resource Management (BA, Hons) and is also CIPD Level 7 qualified.
Before joining HR Solutions, Layla was a Senior HR Advisor at St Andrew’s Healthcare for over 8 years. She supported HR, Finance and the Estates and Facilities functions that employed 530 employees across catering, security, housekeeping, projects, maintenance and the grounds team. Her earlier career includes HR experience within the charity, care and telecommunications sectors. Before finding her way to a career in HR, Layla initially got accepted onto a place at university for an accountancy degree. She also started working with a local East Midlands based accountancy firm, however she realised she didn’t’ enjoy accounts. Sound advice from her Dad, encouraged her to transfer her university degree from accountancy to a human resources degree. It was the best decision she’s ever made and since then her whole career has been in HR.
After completing her degree, Layla worked for a start-up logistics firm as an HR Officer where she recruited, inducted and continued with administering HR for the employees. She progressed to CIPD training whilst working for a telecommunications firm as an HR Services Advisor. Layla then progressed to the role of an HR Advisor at St Andrews Healthcare and after 2 years there she was promoted to Senior HR Advisor, at which time she completed her CIPD course. She loves working in HR and future aspirations include developing her role, increasing her knowledge and looking forward to what the future brings.
Outside of HR, Layla enjoys baking, walking, reading, going to the gym and spending quality time with her family.
