HR Solutions is delighted to celebrate its 20th anniversary this month.

When HR Solutions was first launched by Carol Ann Guilford in June 2001, outsourcing a firm’s human resources needs was a new concept.

Since then, the company has continued to pave the way for outsourced HR by supporting SMEs with a full service offering from its head office in Kettering. It provides traditional HR, payroll, recruitment, HR administration and software services to more than 450 retained clients and last year launched a Health, Safety and Environment division.

In 2020 HR Solutions also acquired the successful Milton Keynes HR consultancy Crispin Rhodes Limited. This latest acquisition coincided with one of the firm’s busiest years as it supported clients with HR and Health & Safety advice around furlough, redundancies and back to work guidance following the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Greg Guilford has been managing the business since 2014. He said: “We put our clients at the heart of everything we do.

“Having a focus on service delivery has definitely seen us grow. There are clients that have been with us for many years, and in most cases have introduced us to their colleagues, or even re-engaged with us when they’ve moved to new companies.”

This year the firm is also working on exciting plans to increase its certified online training and offer accredited courses in health and safety and mental health as well as certificates in management and a range of soft skills.

Greg said: “We’ve always been innovators of new ways of working, as well as introducing new services and enterprise level technology to ensure we meet the requirements of our clients.

“There have been so many incredible achievements over the past 20 years, but I’m extremely proud to have developed such a great team. They’ve really risen to the challenge of supporting our clients during an extremely tough 12 months.”

Award-winning service

Amongst those who have risen to the challenge is the firm’s HR operations manager Sue Watson. Sue scoped up the award for Lockdown Leader in the SME Northamptonshire Business Awards for keeping her team motivated and informed during the pandemic ,whilst continuing to deliver a first-class service to clients.

Despite the pandemic standing in the way of major anniversary celebrations, HR Solutions is determined to mark the milestone with its team and clients and continue to thrive.

Greg added: “Although, we’ve been trading for 20 years, it feels like we’re only just getting started! We know we can help a lot more clients, and we’re keen to continue to grow our client base to help SMEs have access to expert HR and H&S services to help them over what’s likely to be a challenging year ahead.”
