Staff Engagement, Recruitment and Retention 2010
05 January 2010
As the economy recovers, albeit slowly, recruitment activity is set to increase. Recent research is already indicating that the job market is picking up, and is set to further increase throughout 2010.
Current thinking is that many recent hires may have only taken roles as stop gaps until the market picks up. In addition the employees that either survived a redundancy or restructuring programme may be demotivated and either looking to move organisations or change their career entirely.
What does this mean for businesses? Well to keep your current employees you should be looking at how engaged they are with the Company, as well as discussing with them their career development opportunities.
Listening to employee opinions is also a key activity for organisations of any size, with employee surveys a useful tool to gauge current levels of employee morale.
Setting out and communicating Company objectives to employees is also a useful tool to engage employees, so that they can see the growth plans of the Company and where they can help to drive forward the success of the Company.
If however you are looking to recruit then being amongst the first to start recruiting in 2010 will enable you to take your pick of the available talent pool.
If you are looking to start 2010 with a recruitment drive, then please don’t hesitate to contact your account manager or a member of the HR Solutions team to see how we can help.
