Training Grants

We all know that we are operating in one of the worst economic climates, but we still need to think about the needs of the business once this economic downturn bottoms out and turns around.

The Government has for some time promoted its Train to Gain service under the Learning Skills Council, which aims to offer independent advice on improving the skills of your employees. The service is designed to help employers to boost their business by training their staff.

It is worth noting that they too have limited funding during this economic climate but that there are still opportunities for businesses to take advantage of either ‘free’ or subsided training opportunities.

There are of course some eligibility criteria, and these can be found on the Train to Gain website

Training can benefit your business in many ways. It can help to boost competitiveness, productivity and staff motivation, and can also reduce your recruitment costs where employee retention increases.

If this is something that you are interested in then you can either contact the Learning Skills Council (LSC) directly or you can speak with a Consultant at HR Solutions who can offer you assistance.

"I first met Carol at a monthly FSB meeting in 2003 when she spoke about her business. At the time I was suffering from a number of personnel issues and realised that as a small business I needed some assistance. I met with Carol a few days later and was immediately impressed with her straight talking professionalism. I have retained Carol for sometime now and what a difference it has made not only from the day to day personnel issues but from the recruitment of new staff too. I can now concentrate on my businesses!"
