Clare Cowland gained significant HR expertise during the fourteen years she spent working in the media industry.

Clare’s HR career started in broadcasting, where she worked as a HR Assistant for Nickelodeon before moving into a role in the music industry. Here Clare quickly rose through the ranks, eventually taking a senior HR management role with a major music publisher. After taking a role to head up a HR department within the retail sector Clare then joined BusinessHR in 2014.

As you would expect from her level of experience Clare has a broad knowledge of HR, and she has both an MSc in Human Resource Management and a certificate in coaching from Henley to prove it. During her career Clare has implemented change management initiatives and large scale restructure and redundancy programmes across businesses of all sizes. On a smaller scale she likes to engage in one-to-one coaching, and has resolved performance management issues of varying complexity.

At present Clare is on maternity leave, and she has found her HR experience to be great preparation for the challenges of motherhood! In what little spare time she has Clare enjoys seeing friends and family, going to the cinema, and travelling to sunny locations. Clare lives in Kent.
